Ray Codd, Captain 1st VII 1966

Join us to honour one of the school’s sporting legends, celebrate the school’s sporting success past, present and future and watch some great rugby – on the pitch and on the screen!

Ray Codd (OP 1966) was one of the school’s sporting legends who sadly died last year.  Ray was Captain of the First XV as well as the captain of the cricket and athletics teams. He went on to captain Rossyln Park RFC and then Middlesex RFC after which he had a long and successful career in sports education.

This inaugural event is an opportunity to honour Ray’s memory and is also a celebration St Benedict’s sport across the generations.   The Old Priorians President’s XV will face Rosslyn Park Nomads for the first time at Perivale and it’s worth noting that we will be fielding 25 OPs of various vintages including some as far back as the 1980s! And of course, it’s a chance to get together with old friends.

There will be food, at least two bars as well as a supervised bouncy castle for smaller children.

Gates open at 1pm with KO at 2.30pm and the presentation of the Cup at 4.30pm.

All profits from this event will go to the school’s Floodlights Appeal. The plan is to have floodlights in place for the start of the 2020/21 season and we are sure you will all agree that this will hugely enhance St Benedict’s sports offering.

The event is free to attend though you can also purchase a seat in the covered stadium seating for £25.

For health and safety purposes you must register your attendance. You can do this here:  http://www.trybooking.co.uk/OXD

We hope to see you there!
