DATA COMPLIANCE
Issued by The Council of The Old Priorian Association
May 2018
All of our web forms you use to subnit personal data to the OPA now contain an Acceptance Field and an Electronic Signature Field which must be completed if you wish to submit your Data to the OPA – without completing these fields your data submission will not be activated.
Having completed these two fields and clicking on the Submit Button, you are agreeing to allow the OPA to store your details securely for the purpose of sending you information about the OPA, its Activities and St Benedict’s School.
Your personal information is stored in line with the Data Protection Act and its GDPR Update (May 2018) and is only shared with St Benedict’s School. If you wish us to share your Data with any other Old Priorian, we require your explicit permission in every such situation.
UNSUBSCRIBING FROM EMAIL DISTRIUTION LISTS
Issued by The Council of The Old Priorian Association
March 2018
The Old Priorian Association (OPA) communicates with Old Priorians (OPs, Alumni of St Benedict’s School), both Association Members and those OPs who have not joined the Association, by Email Distribution.
This email distribution can take one of two types
Emails sent directly from the OPA to an individual OP or groups of OPs
- These emails have an Unsubscribe Option at the bottom
- On receiving a request to unsubscribe, the OPA will remove all relevant email information for the individual from its Database.
- Email distribution can be restored on application to the Administrator, OPA
Emails sent indirectly via a commercial email Service (MailChimp) to groups of OPs
- These emails have an Unsubscribe Option Button at the bottom
- On clicking this button MailChimp automatically removes all relevant email information for the individual from its system.
- Restoration of email facilities via MailChimp can only be achieved by a two-step process initiated by the individual concerned through the OPA Office.
- Please be aware that in using the Mailchimp Unsubscribe facility, you are unsubscribing from ALL email distribution from the OPA, not just from the particular subject matter of the email concerned.
- We do not offer the facility to unsubscribe from specific email subjects. However we will make every endeavour to ensure that our communications are of relevance to the recipient.
- When the OPA receives notification of an OP’s Un-Subscription from the MailChimp Service, we will then remove all email data from the direct OPA system as well.
